Lenten Postludes

The selection of postludes during the Lenten season is always a challenging one, particularly when searching for hymn-based works. This compilation of ten arrangements by ten arrangers seeks to alleviate this challenge for the organist. Thiscollection of extant works is eclectic in its selection of hymn tunes, textures, and general styles, while retaining the plaintive and reflective elements of Lent. Dynamic contrasts are also present with some beginning intimately and building to astrong finish, others are grandiose throughout.
